Dear mates and colleagues. Sorry for the inconvenience occurred during the last two months. The transferring of our domain required a period of quarantine (European registry EURid ordinary procedure). The domain MEA2006.eu has been now successfully transferred, thus our website is today officially back in business. enJOY!

Clockwork Orange at Kulturen!

9 10 2007 Posted by Stefano in General, Video at 16:03

An action against alleged “decadence” has been taken at Kulturen Museet in Lund few days ago. The Museum hosted a photo-expo of the controvert artist Andres Serrano regarding explicit sexual acts of disputable artistic content. News report that the assault is to be ascribed to a neo-nazi group which also filmed and published this protest video online.

Newborn!

26 08 2007 Posted by Are in General at 19:01

Hello All,

I am now the proud father of little Albert.

He was born on the 15th of August 2007. His weight was 3350 gram and he was 49 cm. The birth was long and hard. Both Arendse (my wife) and Albert are alright.

It’s a hard but fantastic life to be a father.

:-)

Best wishes,

Are

Finally my JD!

18 07 2007 Posted by Stefano in General at 9:59

Hi everyone,

it’s been a while since my last post on the MEA2006 blog. The reason is that I’ve been terribly busy completing my thesis lately. But was all worth the suffering since yesterday I’ve received title of doctor in jurisprudence. Ah…I’ve finally seen the light at the end of the tunnel!

All in all…now that I ain’t a student any longer am I officially unemployed? :-D

Greetings to everyone of you guys.  P.s. Linka sorry for having been busy during your stay in Rome. Hope Michele could catch up with u…

Ciao, Roma (or “How I met Moravcsik”)

17 07 2007 Posted by Linka in General at 11:21

Dearest all,

Well, I am overexcited after spending two weeks in the eternal city of Rome for the Jean Monnet Summer Seminars. Rome was amazing. They accommodated me with an Italian family and they took good care of me. Those Italian mothers: always preparing to-go snack for lunch like in old school days. I have had so much pasta and pizzas I nearly had to start buying new clothes to fit in. Just kidding. But it was actually sales time in Rome, so just a good reason to buy the huge pink Max Mara bag I have always wanted :-)

Anyways, these are minor issues!!!

I met Moravcsik! You guys, he is briliant. Erik, now I think we’ve criticised him too much. I seriously loved him. And most other guys in the seminar thought about writing “Having met Moravcsik” in their resumes.
So, I have this great picture of him drawing a table on the whiteboard with state preferences and interests and …you know the story. And I mean, you can really appreciate smartness only after you have heard a keynote closing speach by Frattini who plans on creating a “true European Islam”. Good luck, Europe!

Kiss you all and will try to upload the most hilarious picture of Amy Verdun, her husband and their baby giving a lecture together on international financial markets. It’s awesome!

Ciao,

LInka

Greetings from Lund!

7 05 2007 Posted by Linka in General at 15:10

Hallo, dear friends! Hejsan!

Greetings from wonderful Lund. I spent a week there a few days ago and believe me, words cannot describe how great it was to be back there..walk the same streets, see the magnolias blossoming in front of the white building, party in the nations again! Well, there was one huuuge downside to it all! There were very few MEAs around to make the magic happen again. However, I was lucky enough to meet and have a chat with Maja, Julia, Are and Ling! Thanks to all of them for spending some time with me. I met with Julia and Maja in Copenhagen and we had coffee in a wonderful quiet place in the centre (I really needed to sit down after 4 hours of shopping - Cph shops are just too many!). Julia is back from Sthlm and settling down in Malmo; Maja is writing her Danish thesis and is quite busy with it. Hope she will be done with it soon and enjoy the summer! Are invited me to his place in Malmo and we had a great chat with him and Arendse (both look happy and excited!). Ling was down to Lund for some days and I was quite lucky to see her there, too.

As for the party scene, pretty much the usual. Went to Vgs, OGs and Blekingska and actually I came upon a cool newcomer band (www.billiethevision.com), playing live - they were cool to hear (and to see!!!), check them out when you have time. And not to forget the event of the year—Sista April. This was waaaay bigger this year than last. I would say 15 thousand people in the city park, weather was stable, people were drunk, grilling, the usual. We didn’t make it to a nation party afterwards (or any party for that matter), but bbq-ing on the rooftop of Spoletorp South and guitar-playing was an adequate ending to a day of drinking.

What else ..? Honestly, there was a lot; I can talk for hours about walking around the city, taking pictures of my favourite places, etc., etc. Ha! I even got to talk on radio show on the AF-Radio. A friend of mine was doing a jazz show there and I went to sit, watch and have a beer. Well, big mistake to sit in front of the mics: then I had no choice but to participate! But good fun and good memories! (And I hope nobody listened!)

Well, that’s about it right now, but will write again and post photos.

My journey in the US

20 04 2007 Posted by Stefano in General at 17:19

Howdy folks,

how’s life lately? I’m living in DC since early April and despite the weather (it’s getting warmer only now…) it’s great time! I’m studying at the law center of Georgetown University with Juan and meeting a lot of people. When deciding to fly overehere to visit Aino and the guys I though it would have been smarter to start my personal blog rather than the MEA for personal use. So here is my address: stefano.mea2006.eu

Being many things posted on the other blog (there’s picture’s too) there’s no need to make this one longer than it is… :)

Greetings from Washington DC,
